The joint venture formed between Toto Costruzioni Generali and Ubaldi Costruzioni has been awarded a EUR 357 million contract for the design and construction of the realignment of the SS 4 Salaria between the Valgarizia tunnel and Acquasanta Terme, which constitutes the second lot of the Trisungo–Acquasanta Terme section. 

The works involve the construction of a new route with a total length of 4.86 km, 4.08km of which in tunnels, replacing the current alignment, which is approximately 6 km long and characterised by numerous curves and the passage through built-up areas. The project includes the construction of the two tunnels Favalanciata (1,828 m) and Acquasanta Terme (2,250 m), as well as two viaducts measuring 58 m and 284 m.
