A feasibility study on El Cimarron hydro power plant financed by the French government will be conducted by Coyne et Bellier. If built, the scheme will necessitate the building of a 10.8 km-long 5.8 m-diameter tunnel to divert the Lempa River into the Metayate River and conduct the waters to Cerron Grande Dam.
