Expotunnel is the new showcase dedicated to the world of tunnelling, drilling, mining, underground construction and research, that will be held in Hall 19 at the Bologna Trade Fair Centre from 17th to 19th October 2013.
The world of underground construction sees the light of day, offering a look at the possibilities for not only underground mobility, ranging from goods and passenger transport to distribution networks, but also the housing of various infrastructures in order to aid the reclamation of urban areas and improve the quality of life above ground.

The world of tunnelling and underground drilling has great need for its very own show capable of bringing together the various players in this sector. Italian Tunnelling Society Congress
ExpoTunnel will be held under the patronage of the Italian Tunnelling Society (SIG), that is organizing the International Congress “Tunnelling and Underground Space in Europe Development”, taking place during the event.
“ExpoTunnel not only aims to be a showcase for underground construction, but also a venue for dialogue, discussion and analysis of the opportunities provided by these solutions for sustainable development of sites for facilities and services, preserving and improving land use for the benefit of more precious human activities. This means that we have to make planning engineers and designers aware of the opportunities offered by developments in technology and machinery that make it a safer and more financially viable choice to position underground, not only transport infrastructures, but also storage facilities and equipment that do not require to be located above ground”, explains engineer Adolfo Colombo, Chairman of the Organising Committee of the International Congress.
