The joint venture Skanska/Fay Construction Co signed a contract with CSX Transportation for the  modernization of the Howard Street Tunnel (HST), originally constructed in 1895 and part of the HST Project in Baltimore, Maryland, USA. The Howard Street Tunnel Project will improve clearance at the Howard Street Tunnel (HST) in Baltimore City and 22 other locations where obstructions exist along the CSX Transportation (CSX) Interstate 95 (I-95) rail corridor between Baltimore and Philadelphia.  

The modernization of the Howard Street tunnel consists of vertical clearance improvements to allow double-stack trains (trains transporting shipping containers stacked on top of each other) to travel between Baltimore, Maryland and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Work includes lowering and tunnel enlargement techniques across the 2.7-km (1.7-mile) expanse of the Howard Street Tunnel to increase the tunnel height from 5.8 to 6.4 m (19 to 21 feet). The Société du Grand Paris (SGP) awarded the first design-build contract for the Line 15  East to the COREA consortium, which includes Eiffage Génie Civil (leader) and eight architectural firms (co-contractors). The value of the contract is EUR 2.54 bn. The section between Bobigny-Pablo Picasso and Champigny Centre stations will be opened in 2031 . 

The contract includes the design and construction of a 17km tunnel with six new stations (Bobigny - Pablo Picasso, Pont de Bondy, Bondy, Rosny Bois-Perrier, Val de Fontenay, Nogent-Le Perreux), the development works on the part of the Champigny Center station dedicated to line 15 East, 17 service structures including 2 tunnel structures in Rosny-sous-bois and Champigny-sur-Marne, as well as the Rosny-sous-Bois operation centre,  which will serve as a storage and maintenance site for line's trains and infrastructure.

National Highways has awarded Bouygues Travaux Publics – Murphy Joint Venture the EUR1.56 bn (GPB1.34bn) Lower Thames Crossing Tunnels and Approaches contract, including the design and construction of twin road tunnels under the river Thames, which at 4.18 km (2.6 miles) will be the longest in the UK. The consortium CPB Contractors, Ghella and Acciona Construction have secured the EUR 2.20 bn (AUD3.6 bn) Tunnels South contract to build 16km of twin tunnels between Cheltenham and Glen Waverley for Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) East in Melbourne. Tunnelling will start in 2026, and trains will be running by 2035.  

The 4 TBMs for this section will be powered by renewable electricity, and construction and materials emissions will be reduced by 20%. 

The contract will also include 55 safety cross passages between the tunnels, station boxes at Clayton and Monash and the construction of portals – the entrances and exits to the tunnels – at the stabling facility.  

Construction is progressing across the SRL East corridor, with works in Burwood underway to build the TBM launch site. Most of the ground preparation works required to excavate safety cross passages between the twin tunnels will be managed underground, reducing surface impacts on residents, schools and roads. Land Transport Authority (LTA) has awarded the Singapore branch of Gamuda Berhad the EUR 352.81 million (S$509.57 million) contract for the design and construction of the West Coast underground station and associated tunnels for the Cross Island Line (CRL2) phase 2 project in Singapore. The station, whose name is not final, will be along West Coast Road. 

The CRL - completely underground - is Singapore's eighth MRT line. Its construction has been divided into three phases. The awarding of all contracts for the construction of Phase 1, announced in 2019, 29km long with 12 stations from Aviation Park to Bright Hill, was completed in March 2022. Construction work has started and will be completed by 2030. 

Phase 2 of the LRC, announced in September 2022, is about 15 km long with 6 underground stations: Turf City, King Albert Park, Maju, Clementi, West Coast and Jurong Lake District.
