The project includes a longitudinal system, comprising the installation of 212 jet fans, distributed throughout the tunnels. These units are designed and certified to work at 400ºC during at least two hours and are completely made of 316L quality stainless steel to withstand the harsh environmental conditions of the tunnel. The Sagrera TAV - Sagrera-Meridiana stretch of Line 4 will be used by Line 9 trains while the Onze de Setembre - Sagrera-Meridiana parallel section is used for spoil removal when work continues on Line 9 between Sagrera-Meridiana and Zona Universití ria. The new Line 4 section will be commissioned as Line 9 without being connected to La Pau, the current head of the line. Construction of both sections implies therefore that Lines 9 and 4 will run in parallel in separated tunnels between Sagrera TAV and Sagrera Meridiana.
