|Zitron has directed its efforts to development and improvement of ventilation systems in mining and tunnelling, and has a wide range of standard, pneumatic and flameproof types. A major feature of the Porceyo plant is its very sophisticated fan testing facilities.|
|The main product lines are auxiliary ventilation fans for tunnel construction, jet fans for operating tunnels, and emergency ventilation fans. On all models, the fan housings are made of rolled steel sheet, with flanges to fit the silencers, and interior consoles to mount the motor. The impeller consists of a hub with suitably profiled blades, either fixed or adjustable pitch, manufactured in cast aluminium alloy or special steel. The impeller is both static and dynamic balanced before installation. The motor is generally asynchronous, 3-phase electric, with rotor bearings oiled for 20,000 hours running. High temperature versions are available for all models. High efficiency silencers are located at both inlet and outlet of the fan housing, and these have rolled steel sheet external covers and perforated steel sheet internal covers, with fireproof silencer material. The decibel rating is normally in the mid 70s range.|
metallic components of Zitron fans and silencers are protected against
corrosion by means of hot dip galvanising and special paints.

Another eight are installed at Lisbon Metro. Other Zitron systems have been delivered to Argentina, Bhutan, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, France, Greece, India, Iran, Madeira, Pakistan, Peru and Turkey.
