Minova International has been a world leader in rock support, resins and cements for tunnelling projects for almost three decades.
The company’s tunnelling business was established in Switzerland in 1982, shortly after Minova’s successful involvement in the Furka Tunnel. This was the first major civil project in the world to use resins for rock stabilisation and groundwater control.
Tunnelling continues to be the major market for Minova in Switzerland and Spain, with an increasing focus of its activities across Central and Eastern Europe. Recent projects include the TBM tunnel under the Bosphorus Strait as part of Turkey’s infrastructure projects.
Minova also has a growing presence in the tunnelling and civil engineering markets in South East Asia from its operating bases in Singapore and Taiwan.
Geography is no barrier. Our expertise and solutions are developed locally and utilized globally.
Innovation has been a foundation of Minova’s success, as evidenced by the many patents it holds around the world for the chemical formulation, manufacture and application of its products.
Research and development is led by recently established global centres of excellence - steel bolts in the US, chemicals in Germany and cement products in Poland. Recent advancements include geotechnical resins and GRP bolting systems aimed at keeping TBM downtime to a minimum
Today, Minova International is led by a mining engineer and many of its senior people have mining or geotechnical backgrounds. The company works in partnership with customers to get the best from its vast range of products and to custom-engineer solutions.
Minova now has an unmatched range of products for the tunnelling industry following recent acquisitions of specialised manufacturers of steel bolts and support systems in France, Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic.
These acquisitions include the Carspach (Alsace)-based manufacturer of Ancrall brand steel bolting systems, which is a major supplier to the tunnelling industry.
Minova International is headquartered in Melbourne, Australia, following its acquisition in late 2006 by Orica, a world leader in the supply of product, innovation and knowledge to the mining industry.
Minova operates 26 manufacturing facilities in 11 countries, producing such well-known products as ventilation dams, Bevedol/Bevedan injection resin, silicate resins, GRP and Wiborex bolts.
Minova’s offer to customers includes application equipment such as resin and cement pumps, hand-held drills, accessories, technical support and application services as well as well known products such as CarboPur, CarboCryl and CarboStop.
