On March 18th 2017 SELI Overseas completed the 11,4 km long headrace tunnel at the Xe-Pian Xe-Namnoy Hydro Power Plant, in southern Laos, using a 5.84 m diameter Double Shield TBM built by TERRATEC on SELI Overseas specifications and concept and design.

The tunnel, lined with honeycomb hexagonal precast segments, has been completed three months ahead of  scedule with a peak production  of 1.005 m/month in July 2016. This mega project, carried out in EPC by the Korean company SK E&C, and will produce energy for Thailand and Laos.

The complex geology  and the restricted time to complete the project  required that SELI Overseas had to make full use of its 67 years of tunneling experience and of its specialized technicians and crews they are among the best tunnelling teams in the world.
