The new Robbins TBM EPB Tierra has reached Singapore from Shanghai, where, on 28-29
th June it had been accepted by LTA (Land Transport Authority) and CMC. It will construct two DTL3 lots in Singapore. The TBM has a 6.65 m-diameter with disc cutters for excavation in rock and a 6.63 m-diameter with ripper tools for excavation in soft ground. Rotation speed of the cutterhead is 0 to 4.5 rev/min and the total thrust is 48,000 KNm. The 2.8 km-long and 1.4 km-long sections include the Bedok Reservoir and Tampines West underground stations (23 m below ground level) and their twin-tube tunnels. The TBM will be assembled in the 25 m launch shaft for a start in late August on the 1,300 m drive to the Bedok Reservoir station. Click
