Call for papers - 2 weeks left – P lease note that call for papers closes December 1st, if you have not yet submitted your abstract, now is the time to do so.

The first FIVE conference was held in Gothenburg in 2010 gathering 230 people from around the world sharing the common interest of mitigating and preventing fires in vehicles. Second, third and fourth FIVE were held in Chicago, Berlin and Baltimore. This time FIVE will return to Sweden again and the 5th International Conference on Fires in Vehicles, FIVE 2018, will be held 3 -4 October 2018, at the Textile Fashion Center in Borås, Sweden.

This event will bring together expertise in the field of Fires in Vehicles for 2 days of presentations and exhibits. Each day is opened by invited Keynote Speakers, leaders in their field, providing an overview of their topic of expertise. The confirmed keynote speakers are introduced here.

Conference topics include but are not limited to:

– Regulations and standards

– Fire statistics

– Insurance issues

– Fire development in vehicles

– Fire detection in vehicles

– Fire suppression in vehicles

– Fire mitigation strategies in vehicles

– Case studies

– First responder strategies

– Fire risks in vehicles with alternative fuels or alternative drives

– New materials in vehicles

We hope that you are interested in taking part in FIVE 2018 and welcome you to submit a manuscript for presentation. The manuscripts will be reviewed by the scientific committee on the basis of an extended abstract of not more than two pages.

Manuscript abstracts should be submitted to the Secretariat by email (five@ri.se) by 1st December 2017.
