Euclid Creek Tunnel closes under budget

25/09/2015

On 17.09.2015  the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District’s Board of Trustees approved the final award of the contract 238-15. This contract will close $3.6 million less than the original budget. The initial investment for the Euclid Creek Tunnel, was originally  $198 million. It is the first in a series of storage tunnels constructed as a part of Project Clean Lake, the Sewer District’s 25-year, $3 billion program to drastically reduce the amount of combined sewage entering local waterways annually.

The tunnel will be fully operational upon completion of the Tunnel Dewatering Pump Station in 2016. The Euclid Creek Tunnel is located at a depth of 57.91m to 67.6 m below ground and has a diameter of 7.32m. It is 5,486 m long and will have the capacity to hold 230 million liters of combined storm water and wastewater. Click us/76 for tunnelbuilder archive. Visit www.neorsd.org. 39/15.
